Kenya Bankers Association to sponsor the business category

We are pleased to have Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) sponsoring the category for Best Business blog in this year’s Kenyan Blog Awards.

The awards which closed the voting phase on the night of 1st May will be unveiling the winners in a gala event to be held at Radisson Blu, Upperhill on Saturday 14th May.

KBA Chief Executive, Habil Olaka had this to say: “This award is important not just because it celebrates exemplary coverage of business, finance and economic news and analysis, but also because it sets the tone for business standards and practices that drive brand and performance. This is in tandem with our goal to facilitate meaningful engagement with banking industry stakeholders, and encourage capacity in the effective communication of financial and business information”

KBA has been a champion of social media within the banking industry. In 2012, the industry umbrella body debuted the first ever dialogue which saw bank CEOs for the first time interact with mwananchi on topical issues via social media. “My Chat with a Bank CEO” (chat.kba.co.ke) is now the most anticipated event.

KBA and its member banks have also over the years contributed to capacity building and training of business reporters with the objective to harness in-depth analysis and clear presentation of the complex financial services sector. The Association looks forward to partnering with BAKE to extend similar opportunities to the blogging community.

We welcome KBA on board, as we look forward to a wonderful event on Saturday 14th, where the best of bloggers will be crowned.

Other sponsors for the awards include; EatOut Kenya (Best Food Blog), Coca Cola (Best Sports Blog), Samsung (Best Photography Blog & Best Lifestyle Blog), Xpose and our title sponsors Safaricom.
