Safaricom are the title sponsors for this year’s awards. This is not the first time that Safaricom has worked with BAKE in supporting the awards as they extended their sponsorship in 2012, 2013 and 2014. We are pleased to have them on board again this year.
The BAKE chairman, Kennedy Kachwanya had this to say about the sponsorship “It is great to have Safaricom come on board as this year’s title sponsors. Their support over the years has been unwavering and it is even more significant since this is an organization that understands and appreciates the important role played by content creators and the online space in the advancement of our community.”
The Kenyan Blog awards has been a journey that kicked off with the launch of the submission phase on 8th January. Kenyans online were required to submit their blogs or those of their favourite bloggers for consideration in the award. With the close of the submission phase on 10th February a group of 5 judges went through the submitted blogs and picked the best 5 in the 19 categories.
The judges this year consisted of Mikul Shah, Ahmed Salim, TerryAnne Chebet and Muthoni Maingi. Online voting, which is currently ongoing, kicked off on March 3rd and will be closing on 1st May. This will send the Kenyan Blog Awards to its culmination on 14th May at the Gala event to be held at Radisson Blu Hotel, where the winners will be crowned.
The other sponsors for this year’s awards are EatOut Kenya, Xpose, Samsung and Coca Cola.
We continue to receive your votes for the nominated blogs at bakeawards.co.ke/vote so make sure to cast your vote if you have not done so already.
